The reason why Johtomons have been getting a load of regional forms and cross-gen evolutions recently is because the next games will be Johto remakes in the style of LGPE. They're trying to increase the diversity of the Johto Dex before the remakes are made so that they can include more Dark-types and Ghost-types, and save all the shitmons everyone was complaining about with new evolutions.

This level of recognition for Johto is unprecedented, as we all know how much GF hates Johto. The only reason they'd be giving Johtomons this much attention is because they have remakes in the works. I'm pretty sure Johto now has more special forms than Kanto at this point.

It's clear as day.
