types only became a thing halfway during development, many pokemon were given types retroactively, they took an organic approach at typing instead of trying to force types that don't belong for the sake of gameplay. it just so happens that a lot of the monsters in the game are venomous or pollution personified. if you put a jellyfish or a wasp in a game you of course they are gonna be poison you're not give them wacky traits that don't belong for the hell of it

More I ponder about it the more I realize that I never really hated this dex. Even though I used to get annoyed at genwunners I really hated the mons from them. There are some that I don't care for but alot of them grew on me or I gained a bigger appretiation of.
