Blogpost:
>played first 3 gens, loved Pokemon
>was out of it for a while (adolescence), played Diamond in emulator, was bored, too slow, didn’t like it
>years go by
>start playing randoms and OU in pokemononline (had no idea what I was doing)
>only had success by abusing broken Genesect before the ban
>get 3ds and Pokemon X as a gift
>enjoy the comfy ride of the first 3 gyms even if I feel I’m too old and too good at competitive to enjoy such an easy game with only single battles where you can just smash A to win most of the time
>rest of the game was dumb, team flare, diantha, unfinished feel throughout the game (power plant, the ghost girl, the haunted house, AZ)
>years go by only playing randbats on showdown, high and even top of ladder. Can’t care enough to build teams so just play randbats at every chance I get (like when in the loo)
>play gen5 for the first time, pokemon white nuzlocke on an emulator
>had FUN because of the nuzlocke aspect and gen5 storyline was engaging, also only Unovan pokemon was a breeze of fresh air. I felt like N’s farewell was the strongest pokemon moment since “…”
>haven’t played gen 7/8/9 but if I had to I’d play sun/moon and SV
Galar seems so uninteresting… Alola seems cool with the hawaii setting, ultra beasts and the more difficult totems. And Paldea still intrigues me, I feel like they will actually do something cool with the story for the DLC. Maybe it’s just delusion but the possibility of tying everything with Kalos lore and making some older mons actually be paradox mons would be an amazing twist (Zygarde?).
I end up with the feeling odd gens are better than even gens. And that I should play bw2.
