Generation 4 came out when I was in High School, and I was absolutely delighted to see that there were about 20 or 30 kids at school in the auditorium playing this game when it came out, as I figured beforehand if I were to play it, I'd be the only one or made fun of. At the end of that very day I used up my money to grab Pearl and a DS. I loved that game and that time of my life. That was (in essense) the last purely happy period of my time, as the summer after that school year was when I started smoking weed, selling weed, fucking girls, I quit hockey, got caught up in a gang, dropped out of school in grade 12, had a dozen or so stints in jail/prison, etc.
It all worked out in the end, but I was fucked up until like 25 years old. Now I just work, ride motorcycles and play video games.
Gen 4 is definitely my favourite.
