The dust has not settled til we see them animated in things other than the show IMO. I fucking hated Inteleon but it became my fav of last gen after getting to see it properly in the show.

I was always on team no spoilers, especially for the starter evolutions, but now I will look at every leak I can find for future games starters so I never have to live with the disappointment, shame, and disgust of seeing my adorable little duckling turn into an abomination again.

Compared with other starters they are meh (outside of quaquaval). Skeledirge is overdesigned and meowscarada is unfinished (even compared with it's pre-evolution). Overall, they aren't the best but also not absolute shit, just disappointing. Specially skeledirge.
Now, Quaquaval is the worst starter ever invented.

In terms of design? Not very high. Skeledirge is alright but is too busy. It's a vocalist, a magical creature with a familiar that references a plover, and a Dia de Los Muertos reference. Meowscarada is so-so, I know some people hate anthro job designs on principle, but this one is honestly so bland at a glance that I don't find it that objectionable. You need to see its animations to really understand it's a magician rather than a thief. The duck is an abomination. No. Fuck you. It's ugly and it shakes its ass like a whore. Fuck you. Absolutely one of the worst atrocities in the history of the franchise.

Overall, they might rank last based entirely on Quaq, but I still might rank them above Galar.
