Pokemon STILL vary wildly in sizes. Look at how fucking big Starly is in PLA compared to SV. Avalugg is fucking comically miniscule in SV, but is correctly sized in SwSh. There's weird things like Charizard being big enough to be rideable in LGPE/SM/USUM (more akin to how everyone pictures Zard), but not being that large in SwSh and SV.
They keep changing their style of measurement for Pokemon too. Tropius is supposed to be 6'7 but is only a little over the players head in height, meaning theyre likely measuring it head to ass despite not doing so previously. In Colosseum, XD, PBR, and all other media, it's measured head to foot.
In PLA you had this weird fucking issue where the listed sizes absolutely did not match what they actually were. Pokemon with similar body plans (like Lucario and Lopunny) could have the same measurements, and be totally different heights. Even within the same fucking species, the longest Steelix (which is actually longer than its Alpha) is the exact same size as the Alpha.
Anyways, this is all to say, they do try to hold stubbornly to Dex sizes even when theyre obvious ass pulls, but are shitty and inconsistent with it.
