Tatsugiri lives to imitate a human-made food to be eaten by a fish that it then pilots. Varoom is a car engine with wheels that moves primarily by levitating and yet is still 4x weak to the ground. Orthworm has brain damage, Kingambit is so overloaded with stupid shit that it looks like it can hardly move (and it doesn’t, without a roomba), Rellor looks like a disappointed Turkish man with a bad haircut at all times and the pig is funny because it has makeup. As for the (furry)bait- Meowscarada and Pawmot, they didn’t even try to hide it.
I dont even want to diss on the series’ designs. I’d been genuinely loving them up until gen 7- they were even the only parts I’d look forward to during the announcement of a new game for a bit there- but they stumbled hard in gen 8 with the forced theming and very bad executions and haven’t gotten up since. I don’t know *what* the hell happened- aside from the official art getting exponentially worse- but it killed my love for the series’ design aesthetic in a swift one-two punch and I’ve been viciously bitter ever since lol.
Also, alienmon > objectmon > creepymon > comicalmon > kaijumon > cutemon > coolmon > animalmon > femininemon > manlymon (lmao @ mr rime being there though)
