I just got Pokemon Y. Haven't fully played an official Pokemon game since HG&SS. Played the PokeMMO for a bit and really didn't like the gen 5 region. It just left me feeling so bored. So I decided to skip gen 5 and go to 6! So far, I'm enjoying it. Haven't entered the 1st gym yet, just kind of taking my time with a Pokemon game for a change and actually catching everything as I go. Kind of funny that my team is shaping up to be the very 1st Pokemon team I ever used. Already have a Pidgey, Pikachu, and Butterfree. If I get a Charizard, Gyarados, and Kadabara it'll be just like my original team from back in the day. Anyway, don't know what the new Poke are like and don't want to spoil myself on them. First impressions are... those 3 monkies look stupid. The not Pidgey bird looks too much like a stick and is too twitchy for my tastes. Zigazagoon and Bidoof are here... because some losers are required from every gen I guess. Caught a male and female Pikachu. I plan to make them FUCK later. Do I need one of them to hold something to get a Pichu egg? Been so long that I forget.
I do have some criticisms though.
First off, mom asks me if I know how to use a map. I say yes. She explains to me how to use a map anyway. THANKS MOM! 2nd, the girl next door is clearly a bimbo. I walk up to her on Route 1. "Oh hey anon! Let me show you how to catch Pokemon!" Bitch, can't you see I've already caught a Pidgey!? Game really feels like it's babying me. Hopefully that lets up. I'm also not going to pretend that the Sulfaluna whatever forest isn't just the exact same layout as the 1st forest from Red/Blue, with the exact same pokemon in it. Like yeah, I got the nostalgia hit, but it wore off. Also, having the little girl follow me around to give me free heals, because I guess I'm just a big baby in this game that needs constant looking after. Oh yeah, and the 4 "friends" deciding that I had to have a nickname. Fuck that, I chose my own nickname and then just re-typed my name back in.
