Same, and I'm a millennial.
I just fucking love gen 5's story. It's not actually good, but it's the best Pokémon mainline ever did.

Doesn't hold a candle to any PMD, of course. I don't think any gen has ever had better mainline games than spinoff ones.

OP here, for me it's not much the story which was a nice addition dont get me wrong but the feeling of a Pokemon game that felt like an actual new game. All new Pokemon, new Region removed from the rest, Protagonists who looked older, Seasons, etc. It felt like a game made with passion which you dont see much this days.

BW was the first time we got to explore a new region with a whole new cast, much like our first introduction of the series in RBY. I genuinely can't understand why some people hate using new mons since at some point they must have and then arbitrarily chose to stop.

Not really, no. Gen 5 was my 3rd least favorite, only beating out Gen 4 (including HG/SS) and Gen 1. Though I understand why people like Gen 5 and it's cool. If we all liked the same thing, the world would be pretty dull.

Same here, but also starting with Gen 1 or 2 but thinking that Gen 3, 4, or 5 were the best games in the series is shockingly common among the more dedicated fan circles who kept the franchise alive post-Pokemania.
