Lowering acc is like an evasion boost.Evasion is banned in Smogon singles and useless in VGC.Own Acc boost is the better option.

Moving 15 points from Attack to SpA and giving it boosting moves(Psychic type without CM,WTF) would also be good

I think this is pretty much it. It was consistently good for generations and I definitely remember when people were upset that it started dropping in usage due to the power creep. Knowing GF, they're just going to give it a regional form of some kind. It's not something that really needs an evolution, just a stat buff and specific areas. It would be nice if analytic and illuminate got new uses as well. That's all it needs though. It's a really solid Pokémon

I'm going to assume it would also get Tera Blast and Ice Spinner, even if the second is kinda pointless.
>Give it back a lot of the status moves it lost in Gen 8: Swagger, Psych Up, Confide, Reflect Type, Camouflage, Toxic and Spotlight. It already has Cosmic Power, but let's give it Acupressure and Growth too. It has such a wide move pool that I don't want it to feel overpowered if it's going to get Accuracy boosts on top of access to Nasty Plot or CM. Acupressure makes sense because it's a sea star, and I feel like Growth would be an interesting gimmicky setup move that does make sense on it. I also really want it to have Autotomize and Coil, because it's a goddamn sea star. Why wouldn't it be able to cut off a limb or curl up its body? Both would be super gimmicky as well but fun set up moves nonetheless

All right, how did I do? I'm already picturing a Doubles set that uses something like Dazzling Gleam, Hydro Pump, Thunder and Blizzard with Illuminate and holding a Weakness Policy w an ally using Brutal Swing

Staryu and Starmie convey emotions through body language. I think the animators wasted them because the exagerated movements they get in the games combined with their gem lights changing color or blinking would have given them a lot of character.

I'm working on breeding one for my gen 1/2 carts and eventually into the stadium games using gigadrain, mirror coat, surf/icebeam/sludgebomb. I think it's gimmicky as hell but 3v3 Nintendo cup rules is basically who can put bullshit the bullshit

If it had 70 Sp.A in GSC it would have shat on Fortress and threaten Skarmory but the special split was hard on. If it had 70 SpA with Sheer Force I think that would help it use flame Blast or Ice Beam to check certain switch ins.

based Stadiumbro. just finished up Stadium 2 gym leader castle with my Red mons and some of the rentals about a week ago. unintentionally fitting for this thread, Starmie was really good because of Light Screen weakening almost every attack that's super effective on it and Recover on top of busted Speed.

Tentacruel always seemed like a cool Pokemon that I wanted to try. what if you put Barrier and some residual damage on it?

I think it's too situational and waste of a slot. at that point I'd rather go with setting up swords dance with sludge bomb and hyper beam. I plan on using meganium with counter/leechseed/razor leaf/earthquake as well and thought about tossing on one of the screens if need be but I need to experiment first and see what works against the NPC gimmicks

have you tried GameBoy Tower by chance? In the first Stadium it's great but in the second one I keep getting bombarded with loading screens. I encounter a wild pokemon, I talk to the nurse at the pokemon center, I turn on Bill's PC, etc. all that stuff keeps pausing the game. it makes GameBoy Tower unplayable in Stadium 2. I wonder if it's a problem exclusive to my copy of the game

Considering it's damned by the fact it's a stone evolution, currently ensuring it can't evolve again since we've yet to have a Pokemon evolve further after using one, the most logical solution that benefits Starmie as currently is would be a new signature move that's batshit insane.
Otherwise, it'll have to go the way of Muk and get completely outclassed by an objectively superior regional form.

Every time a Pokemon made nonstandard sounds was awesome. Apparently Charizard and Onix are actually saying their Japanese names but but they're still very muffled. Could not imagine Charizard being nearly as popular as it turned out if it said its own name like a retard.
