Whichever one has its name said first when they are mentioned is the one that is bought more. (e.g. Red and Blue, Red is bought more because it's said first)
It will only be nearly balanced if the other game has a cool enough box mon.
This doesn't happen for Pearl and Shield, so the other games (Diamond and Sword) have more sales.
