>>53168940It's because of the sheer humiliation and guilt of losing a Pokemon battle is too much for the protagonist, so the instant it happens they grab all their shit and start running to the last Pokemon Center as fast as humanly possible, probably with their head tilted downwards, screaming/crying. By the end of it they don't even remember how exactly they made their way back so quickly, as if they had blacked out for a little while.
