But buns certainly aren't designed to digest it. It's like a human eating grass. It's not toxic, and you technically will get SOME smidgen of vital nutrition out of it, but more than a little and you'll probably feel pretty sick, and you definitely can't live off it.

A rabbit eating its children was very much not a happy bun to start with. A human in the same condition might do the same.
