Kukui needs to be there when Ash reaches his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. Their father-son relationship was one of the best things to come out of the anime. It's such a wholesome and fun connection they share, and although JN gave them a great final scene together, I want to see the pride on Kukui's face and the joy on Ash's when he sees how proud Kukui is of him for never giving up on his dream.

Before Pikachu Day ends I have to say. I used to think Pikachu was shithouse in OG, and he should have evolved. That Charizard is much cooler. I never understood why TR wanted that rat so much. After a while it just became a shitty gag. Always thought Ash would have done better had he woke up on time.

But watching SM and JN, I learnt I was wrong. That Pikachu really is special.

He is the Strongest Pikachu in the world.
He is the King of Pikachu and he more than deserves to breed Dawn's Lopunny and Iris Emolga both at once.

At the very least Riko should have a Pichu who happens to be the son of Pikachu.

Been doing some research on M rated shipping fanfics

Pokeshipping = Romcom fanfics that become pure romance towards the end. Timeskips, marriage, kids. More often "making love" than romantic sex. The greatest number of writers that appear to be adults

Advanceshipping = Often romance but tons and tons and tons and tons of smut. Even romance stories veer into "She breasted boobily down the stairs" tier

Pearlshipping = Lots of puppy love stories, not AS much smut as may. More comedy than before

Negaishipping = All over the place, but a typical trend of rivals-to-lovers or some such thing

Amourshipping = MANY romance stories, mostly pure romance stories from start to finish (not as much romcom as pokeshipping)
Still has some smut but the normal amount compared to May. The second highest amount of writers that appear to actually be adults

Lets see. Based on that amount remaining, even if we have for example Kingler, Noctowl, and Palpitoad for the Lapras episode, that still leaves 21 pokemon. If 8,9,10 are reserves and at the full 4, thats 12, so that leaves 9 pokemon that might be at the lab. I think Bayleef and Muk and Tauros are easily lab pokemon, so that leaves 6 others that are lab mons.

Especially since there's two protagonists for this, so both of them can't be "the champion". The manga does will enough for this, so the anime could have riko become champion while the boy fights the robo-professors.

watched a few episodes from each generation so correct me if i'm wrong on these

seems very close, they hug and grapple a lot, they have no issue insulting each other and only once or twice do these insults seem to get at them personally
Misty can stay upset about people pinning her as Ash's girlfriend for long stretches of time, Ash reacts to these assertions inconsistently. Sometimes he hates it too and sometimes he doesn't care
Ash's insults to Misty are perhaps the most biting of all the ones he dishes out. He'll taunt her gifted lure, call her ugly, call her scrawny, dopey, annoying, stupid ect. Ash and Misty however almost never seem to take legitimate offense at these kinds of jabs
>Ash and May
Ash is still comfortable throwing insults, it's not as often. These too also seem close. May goes to Ash when shit goes down.
Ash and May briefly have a negative reaction to being called boyfriend and girlfriend, but another time this happens they both seem to roll their eyes at it rather than get upset

>Ash and Dawn
Dawn, like May, is a bit on the girly side and Ash will sometimes lose patience over this. Regardless, both are very encouraging and cheerleader for the other in their own right
Their relationship seems like his relationship with May? The biggest difference I've noticed is that in the Hoenn episodes Ash didn't seem as invested in May's journey, sometimes he would get upset that she even brought up the idea of going to a different town so they don't miss a contest.

This seems somewhat unfair because contests have specific times and gym battles don't. Ash doesn't do this to Dawn. Regardless he will still argue with her over having a morning hair routine.

Almost toxic, Ash at one point drove Iris to leaving the group temporarily. They both have a habit of directly insulting each other and unfortunately for Ash he seems to be on the losing end of these arguments, where he had even footing before.

Ash and Iris p2

Despite ash arguing with iris almost as commonly as he does misty, for the first time he seems conscious not to go after her appearance.
The one time Iris thinks he's talking about her appearance, Ash retracts it and apologizes while waving his arms.

>Ash and Serena
Ash does not seem to deliberately insult Serena at any point. The one time he's angry at her appears to be lashing out at an unrelated issue.
At the same time Serena seems to take his ugly side the worst out of all prior female companions.
As there is really only one example to look at. Serena could barely handle Ash snapping at her. If Ash treated her the way he treated the other girls she would probably be in shambles. One could read this as him being particularly nice to her, being aware that she can't take what he would usually dish out. One could also read this as him simply not being comfortable with her. Not close enough to insult her without being concerned about hurting her feelings.

In terms of physical contact Serena hits both extremes.
While Misty seemed to end up grabbing Ash once an episode to the point it wasn't significant, Serena rarely touches Ash and reacts strongly when she does.
Unlike Misty, Serena will go redfaced if Ash falls on top of her, and unlike Iris, she will tolerate it. Serena and Ash do not latch on to each other as much as Ash or Misty, or even Ash or May. Regardless, you will know when it happens because Serena has very pronounced reactions to it every time.
Serena is very forward by the end. Kissing Ash on the mouth. Certainly something that took a lot of courage.

Researching the later girls is hard because I can barely find mutual interactions between them in gens 7 and 8

It seems every girl has made note that Ash is dense at some point. Serena non verbally seems aware that there are things Ash just won't notice.
Contrary but not contradictory to this, Ash isn't *entirely* oblivious
For one thing he is consistently responsive to how people treat his companions

Uniquely for Misty Ash will laugh at her expense when the conflict of the day bothers her in particular. Again, played for laughs. Ash thinks it's funny when Misty is forced to dress up, falls into mud, gets (cartoon) scorched, is made to perform by her sisters ect.
He will even join in if she's being insulted by a character of the day such as the hag at Maidens peak
At the same time Ash dislikes it when Misty gets flirted with and will make it known. Most fans read this as jealously

With the other companions Ash will either seemingly ignore when they are insulted or defend them. Joining in on the dogpiling is exclusive to Misty as far as I can tell.
Perhaps he thinks Misty can take it or perhaps he legitimately finds her troubles funny. When Iris or Dawn get picked on he does not show the same joy. (He does think it's funny when Dawn is the victim of slapstick)

Well, I mean her sister, Lily, did say she went out on her journey because she was sick of being compared to her sisters. However, she still boasts about her beauty and all that, it would only make sense to see this as her wanting to be seen as beautiful as her sisters, but that not being possible when she's around them, which resulted in her leaving the gym so she wouldn't have to be compared and seen as the spare among them, plus her wanting to become a water pokemon master could be seen as her just wanting to have something special about herself separate from her sisters so they couldn't look down on her.

The anime staff probably wanted to keep things as simple as possible for kids and marketing, and giving Ash's Pokemon names could confuse the kiddies (even though a lot of Pokemon already say their names, not all of them do). But yeah, I get what you're saying; Ritchie's Pikachu is called Sparky, and that's a cute name, and it feels more personal than him just calling it by its species name. Same with Ritchie's other Pokemon like Zippo. It would've been fun to see what names Ash would've given his Pokemon over the years.

Ash teased Goh a few times. It was fun, and I wish that we had seen that side of their relationship more often. I liked them being so supportive of each other, but stuff like the teasing, competitiveness, and differing ideologies/approaches to understanding Pokemon we saw far too infrequently, imo. That was good until DP ended when the anime keep push aside great material from the game to push stupid ideas that never meant to work. Such as shoving inexperienced racist as the new Paul, betting the entire XY&Z on Alain , betting entire PM setting on Goh's friendship with Ash. These ideas had red flags from the start but somehow the writers missed it.

From the looks of it since JN they want to have their own original characters instead of using the in-game ones. And they likely just view stuff like Ash as something holding them back. But its kind of weird they don't do a legend of thunder style thing.

There are many doujinshi that are essentially gone forever, which hurts to think about. I get that some that do own the ones that have long since gone out of print refuse to upload scans out of respect for the artists because of Do Not Reproduce notices or simply because they spent (sometimes a lot) of money on them and don't feel others should get to enjoy the content for free, but yeah it's still disappointing.

Hell no, she fits more as a teacher to new trainers/players in the game, Ash doesn't fit that at all same for Arven, they act like your seniors all through the game and that's how they'll work with Riko and Roy in the anime.

I deeply love the last version of that ending where they use it as a epilogue to show the fate of the BW cast, Burgundy committed to her studies, Stephan not giving a shit and continuing to train, the most affected being Bianca when she lost her first friends full of tears and contacting the others and Georgia depressed either by the loss of her rival or by understanding that she will never be able to reach her.

It's a bittersweet ending.
