It was just 2 seasons of shilling the frog with plot armor and making most other pokemon irrelevant only for him to lose the most important battle he could lose. That's not a show, it's a long commercial for 1 single pokemon.
They almost didn't even remember to include all of the Kalos pokemon in the show.
