xy is not better than sm, if you play xy after oras you will be very underwhelmed because its basically all stuff youve already seen in oras outside of the region itself, and there isnt much to do in general, id say the pokemon selection is better in xy than usum but every battle in xy is pathetic so you dont really even get to use them
