People here seethe about it because they don't play anything other than Pokemon but Pokemon is a perfectly serviceable and fun RPG series that just doesn't take a lot of risks due to how strong the advertising/merch are so it's never produced a truly great or memorable game
Compare this to 90% of indieshit, shovelware, ROGUELITE METROIDVANIA INDIE AA 3D PLATFORMING SIDESCROLLER DECKBUILDER SOULSLIKE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS EARLY ACCESS KICKSTARTER GAME ON XBOX GAMEPASS FOR PC, or even AAA movie games or incredibly cringe shit like Forspoken Pokemon is fine

The first KH is as kino as they could've possibly done for such a retarded concept, everything after that is unsalvageable shitporridge story wise. And judging gameplay alone only 3 games are decent out of like 20. Easy win to Pokemon for consistency alone.

Id say a third of the mainline pokemon games are worth playing while only 2 KH games are. Played all the games in both series btw minus shit like pokemon rumble or the kh gacha game.

I think if you don't take KH too seriously (I know, its hard) it's really not that bad and a decent enough action RPG except for shit like 358/2
Pokemon on the other hand has struggled with actually making a fun game over its entire lifespan and the stories aren't even so bad that you can have fun laughing at them, they're just boringly bad. I think I'd even actually agree with your assessment of the number of games worth playing from each series but you'd still end up enjoying KH more

I feel kh takes itself too seriously and tries to be more mature then pokemon.
Pokemon stories are like, saturday morning cartoon bad that is either boring or acid induced lunacy based on the villian. And the heights of pokemon outweigh the heights of kh.
Like i got more satisfaction from beating red in silver then sephiroth in kh1.

Thats fair, and I agree. But Red honestly was a once in a blue moon holy shit moment for gaming in general and I think not super representative of Pokemon's peaks as a whole
