It's so strange to see Game Freak actually do the Pokémon/human role reversal and not only that but their specific take on it.
First of all it's only Bug type Pokémon for some reason. Do the other types have their own places to live and thier own societies? Their version of of Pokéballs are called Human Balls which just seem to be Pokéballs but reprogrammed for use on humans. Pokémon that own humans are called Trainer Pokémon and not Human Trainers for some reason. The relationship between humans and Pokémon is uh... Not good... The humans are seen as disposable at least by Ledian. Ledian says they need to either become owned by a Pokémon or be "eliminated" but this is not their version not going into the Tall Grass without a Pokémon. If you make her human faint she thinks you broke him and then catches you right away. They don't seem to have their own equivalent of a Pokémon Centre or perhaps even also healing items. They just go get a another human when one is "broken" and do not actually need a human of their own to capture one. Ledian does not like Black Belt talking to you and threatens him for doing so.
That's what I meant by "the way it is" in my original post. It's still interesting that they did this. I played gen 5 and gen 6 a lot and thought the Battle Intros in gen 5 were cool with the camera movement and how the Trainer fades backwards while the Pokéball spins in the air and releases the Pokémon with randomized rays of light. Seeing a Pokémon send out a human in the same way sure is something. Also the Battle Backgrounds in Pokéstar Studios... Actually look like backgrounds... Proving the way Game Freak does the usual Battle Backgrounds is a stylistic choice and not because they can't make them.
