Washington region map thread

I want to make a region map based off of my home state of Washington (with parts of British Columbia and Oregon). Wanna help me set it up?

Landmarks planned as of now: Cascade Range, Hoh Rainforest, Hanford Site
Cities basis planned as of now: Seattle, Olympia, Victoria, Vancouver, Bellingham

Question 1: What would be a good place to put a starting town?

I also came up with this exact premise, though I didn't want to adhere too strictly, so I spiced it up by flipping the Olympic peninsula upside down and making Puget sound way bigger

Anyway, I say make Puyallup the starting town, it's the biggest one that's nice and close to Rainier. Grand Coulee Dam could make a good landmark too

If I were to place the Legendary birds in the Cascade Range, Articuno will go to Glacier Peak, Zapdos Mt. Rainier, and Moltres Mt. St. Helens.

I'm also thinking of basing a town off of Leavenworth.

Hey sorry OP, I was on a very strong shroom voyage at the time of writing this. Ultimately I do think it’s a frustratingly common location, but also none of them ever get finished so if you can leap that hurdle then you’ve got a good shot. It definitely is a boring location though, even if you’re just limiting yourself to the US you have way cooler and more internationally recognizable settings in the form of: Texas, Alaska, Florida, DC, New England, and Southern California. Even West Virginia or Louisiana I think would make for more soulful regions. More power to you if you can create a game that makes Seattle/Washington a cool setting. Challenge Mode: Don’t make the big pointy building a gym, evil team hq, or the league.

Michigan would make for a way more interesting location to explore. Beautiful forests, the iconic Great Lakes, state split into two different areas connected by a big bridge, tiny Mackinaw Island off to the side, and you could have a small part of Canada included. Lots of grass/water/ice Pokémon potential. Leafeon and Glaceon evolutions possible.

I would do Seattle, it connects serveral large cities and would be a large hub for trainers to gather

if you want something more remote I would do Olympia because it's the capital

This but unironically. Western NE is gorgeous, and Omaha's a hell of a nicer city than San Franhellscape. You could have a lot of fun with this with just a little creativity.
Plus we could finally get our Jackalope and Drunken Indian Pokemon.
