I don't buy mainline games anymore, but there's still things I love about Pokemon. I like Sonic, but I haven't like an actual official game in 15 years. Franchises don't end with their official material.

You're not necessarily wrong (even if SV despite being a huge fucking mess managed to somehow be better than the dumpster fire 3DS games) but the issue is there's nothing else. Every other monster training game sucks and misses the appeal, and all my favorite action RPGs ruin themselves by trying to be crazy and anime and fast and adding a bunch of gimmicky mechanics while losing the original core appeal. Literally all games are bad now

I went 3 whole years without even touching or even talking about Pokémon after SwShit. I only started liking Pokémon again after Legends: Arceus was actually a pretty good game. And I’m still waiting to see if Violet will be worth my money, which it isn’t looking like. If it stays garbage, whatever. I’ll just go back to playing more Dankey Kang and Metroid.
