might as well have been a new game to people who hopped onto the Switch train but didn't have a Wii U (aka about 107 MILLION people at this point). Porting games/series that had their success hampered by that flop of a console (or making unfortunately rushed but timely sequels in the case of Splatoon and Mario Maker) is one of the smartest business decisions Nintendo's made ever.

Switch is popular with zoomers and young millennials. But most of Gen 1-3 Pokemon fans are working adults, somee of whom have families.

It's a pretty cheap console and if you're not obsessed with performance like 99.9999% of the population the handheld functionality is fine and even optimal for some games.

Explain how $60 for the 390+ hours I've put into Violet so far is a scam please? It's entirely this, in a much shorter period of time the switch has sold almost twice as many units as the entire 3ds family (3ds, 2ds, n3ds(xl), 2dsxl) so the games should of course be selling record volumes. Looking at pokemon sales relative to users of the platform, they've actually underperformed on the switch releases compared to previous generations of hardware.

Dude I bought a switch literally because I was anticipating gen 4 remakes and I called it. It was that and smash brothers, digimon survive also being on the console was just a nice bonus. Probably not. Still, I don’t mind as much if it’s just shitmons like Castform and Galarian Stunfisk cut from the games, even though I’d still prefer every Pokemon available, and the game itself is so good that I don’t care if it has a limited amount of Pokemon, like Legends: Arceus.
