It's been a while since the last update for my ROM hack of HGSS. April I think?
This update adds many of the things I wanted to add but didn't have the time/tools/resources. The big additions are stuff like the cross-Gen evolutionary items being added to Johto, all available after clearing the Radio Tower, which I think is fair. No more running with Togetic until after Blue! Specific locations can be found in the changelog.
I also slightly altered the level curve without going overboard to make for a more enjoyable experience. Most trainers are now 1-2 levels higher, the post-surf trainers (including the Rocket Hideout grunts) got a 2-4 level boost, and pretty much every trainer from the Radio Tower takeover up until Route 27 received a nice 5-8 level boost, making for a much more cohesive difficulty curve. When making HGSS, they seemed to have forgotten that they blocked off Route 44 until after the Radio Tower, rather than the 7th Badge, meaning they were left way too underlevelled.
I also edited the Gym Leader teams to be a bit more interesting, but not difficulty hack level (think BW Gym teams i.e. no repeats, 3-4 Pokémon etc.). The Gyms and Elite Four are roughly the same level but the surrounding trainers who were just too underlevelled should provide plenty of EXP for the main campaign.
I also added new movements for some overworld NPC trainers, just to make HGSS feel more cohesive as a Gen 4 game, and make Johto feel more alive. One can be seen in the OP pic. I hope some of them give you a nice surprise.
