I doubt pikachu is the favorite pokémon of most people, he isn’t that interesting of a pokémon.

Basically this. Nothing wrong with it, but I'm just hard pressed to believe there's a lot of people out there who are heavily invested in the series and have Pikachu as their favorite. I'm sure there's a few out there somewhere

It’s weird, even though Pikachu is the mascot, it hasn’t been given anything special in the games since like, Volt Tackle in Gen 3? Whereas CHARIZARD gets a bunch of privileges and new forms, so its presence annoys me a lot more, but Pikachu is okay in my book.
