Silver was never a good rival, neither in terms of gameplay nor in story.
Nemona is fine but honestly, the fight against Arven was harder than the post-champ battle with her, and I did that right after I fought her.

I never found him hard to beat, but honestly that might be more because of Johto's absolutely fucked Level curve more than anything else.
