Even if he does, it won't recapture the magic that was the release of that game. I lived near a major university at the time. Whenever I took the bus, EVERYONE had the Pokéwalker out checking for items or were battling. People were crazy into that release.

nothing beats the feeling of stepping out on to route 38 for the first time. you can almost feel the fresh air and breeze from the seaside. it gives me the same feeling i got as a kid stepping out the car at the beach.

I did a nuzlocke 1 year and a half ago and I had a lot of fun realy taking the time to go through everything because I had to think more about progressing.

You can't get the regis without Gen 3, and you need Pearl or Platinum for Glameow and Shieldon. Otherwise yes

I recently got a Jp copy of heart gold from a friend. It's my first time playing johto and it's already probably my favorite game and region already (granted i've only played x, sun, shield, letsgo, bdsp, legends asseus and violet). Besides the fact that my japanese is poor so I have to translate a lot, I'm having a great time. Are the other DS games worth buying?

Worth adding on to that though, if you want the Kanto and Hoenn starters you're going to need three playthroughs of HGSS as they're only given post-Red.

Gen 5 is kinda 'eh' for me, due to it being the first games to start the shift towards casualisation and linear, story-focused gameplay, but it is quite enjoyable for a first playthrough, and it has a lot of post-game content, especially B2W2.

B2W2 are great and even though I can see how people might not like BW, I enjoy the chance to make a team of unusual pokemon, especially because I don't care for anything post gen 5.
