>>53250666I feel like there's enough material for three completely different hacks. One would be the Spaceworld 97-based one that's basically already been done to perfection (the only nitpicks I have are Whitney and Bugsy being in the final game order despite them being planned to be gym #2 and #3 at first, and the cave on Sugar being a Dragon's Den rehash rather than a minecart cave like the mines that Sado Island are known for).
The second one would be set in Nihon as well and focus on including the most interesting unused designs from the Korean index (seeing that lion get its proper place as the Silver legendary would be awesome, for example), as well as implementing the little updates from the updated 98 map.
The third one would be based on Johto as it looked in early 99, with Cherrygrove being a much larger city with temples and a gym, the journey taking you from Violet to Goldenrod to Azalea and the unused town with a gym on route 32, the magnet train taking you from Goldenrod to Ecruteak, Pryce being the 5th rather than 7th gym leader, Lake of Rage having a gym, the Secretpotion for Jasmine's Ampharos being in Ecruteak, Cianwood and Whirl Islands not existing at all yet, but there rather being an ocean connection between Olivine and Goldenrod, Johto being full of temples and towers, route 26 and 27 being part of Johto, Kanto retaining a bunch of its locations like Safari Zone, and there being ledges all over that the skateboard could leap up for hidden items. The Pokemon in it should mostly be based on the Spaceworld 99 ones, with the exception of obvious placeholders, and perhaps with some of the older beta mons to fill obvious gaps in evo lines. No gen 4 stuff, though, as the design philosophy is way too far removed.
