>>53221047Neither Bug nor Ghost had proper attacks. Not to mention that the strongest Bug types didn't even get access to the best Bug moves, let alone Bug moves at all. Gengar as well ended up weak to Psychic due to the Poison typing.
Perhaps Psychic would have been less crazy if Ghost or Bug had actually resisted it, especially if Gengar had been pure Ghost on top of that. Although then there's the issue that Ghost itself didn't have any weakness aside from Ghost either.
