Well, let’s review. Legends: Arceus is still talked about and remembered fondly by a lot of people to this day, BDSP and SwShIT are just about completely forgotten, and SV is a complete embarrassment. So yeah, I think that considers it a good game.

PLA and SV are abominations. People only cope for them because they're dopamine addicted zoomers who see open world and can't help but onions out. Maybe one day open world Pokemon will work, but only when GF actually puts in the effort. At least old games relied on your imagination to fill in the gaps of what the technology couldn't achive, SV and PLA don't. You can see the whole world as is and it looks awful.

The difference is that with higher graphical fidelity and quality, our brains natural start to perceive the world "as it is presented." So yes, old games CAN be better in this way because their flaws are easier for our brains to interpolate and understand as something we need to imagine. When it comes to this era of 3D and open world, there's less room for interpretation. It's a 3D world with "realistic" proportions. The missing parts stand out more because we have no actual idea how to interpolate soemthing that looks like a "real" empty world.
So fuck off zoomer. I'm not against 3D or open world but I am against it being so lazy that it ends up worse than older games.

This works only if you’re a kid with low standards who just don’t care how game looks if it have addicting enough gameplay loop, because kids are just don’t care how game looks and care more about of it is boring or not, hence why Pokemon was so popular back then (despite being obsolete graphic-wise compared to other JRPG series or its time) and still popular to this day (despite also looking obsolete to any competitors)

There is a difference between liking a game that expects you to use your imagination with the graphics and liking a game that leaves nothing to the imagination. I'm not one of those autists that will claim Pokemon's graphics were better than its contemporaries (although I will say that the actual mon graphics were pretty good throughout the series), but at least the older games let you fill in the gap in a logical way. You cannot do that in SV/PLA. You just see mons wandering empty fields. There's nothing to interpolate. They're there, you see them, and there's nothing else. They're a downgrade in their appearance because they made the jump too fast. Even the earlier Pokemon 3D was better by virtue of at least trying to maintain more of the exaggerated proportions that made it easier to wave our hands over the missing details.

Most complaints about SV are performance issues. Most complaints about SS are gameplay issues. One can be fixed with patches (theoretically, we're sill waiting on a lot of that for SV), the other can't really be fixed without a complete overhaul which isn't fucking happening.
