Gen 1 is glitchy, but it's massively overplayed. Most games have a shit ton of glitches underneath the hood, and games especially around that era were teaming with glitches left and right. A standard playthrough of Gen 1 doesn't encounter many noteworthy glitches beyond tepid shit like Focus Energy or the Badge glitch, which arent even outwardly obvious.

No they didn't lmao. They were on their own for most of development. They nearly went bankrupt multiple times and Tajiri was paying staff out of pocket at some points. But he stuck with his dream and vision and Pokémon became a literal 1 in a billion franchise. Could you imagine being him?

They’re literally not shitty, millions of people played and loved them to the point of being a global phenomenon. Some minor jank in a game balance and a few small bugs here and there don’t ruin the game for anyone who isn’t obsessed with focusing on the games flaws.
