That's when I knew the game was soulless... giving such a strong and rare pokemon for FREE when it should have been hidden in a difficult to reach area?
Soulless.
And I wasn't wrong. It's all soulless down to the easiest Elite 4 I never battled, I didn't think it was possible to make it easier than Gen 5 but they did it.

The main city is quite nice for sure, but that's it. I didn't ever feel the particular atmosphere of France even once. To this day, it's a very poorly designed region. The huge desert next to the capital without any attention paid to the biome was particularly jarring

It's bad because Bagon is a rare pokemon, period. It shouldn't hang out on a route without at least some hardship to face or a secret area to uncover (you can get Gible with only 2 badges but at least you have to explore)
But X/Y can only ride on the popularity of past games to ""shine"". That's why they give you a kanto starter, that's why lucario is shilled, that"s why Bagon is easy to find. The game has no identity except Serena and luminose city.
I won't argue more with you. X/Y are considered the worst games in this franchise and for good reason. Fans like you don't help

BDSP is a crime against humanity.

XY had a good online and GTS.
Added Fairy (my favourite type. Hate me but it's op and made better the waifumon for excellence)

the biggest memory i have of this was how some autist screamed into my ear over the 3ds cause i traded him a shiny sligoo. i just wanted to get rid of him cause i accidentally clicked yes and he sounded like he fucking came.

I fully evolved Chestnaught, and that was just about the only Kalos pokemon I felt something for. I had vivillion, pyroar and talonflame and did not get any other gen 6 pokemon, and I kept the gift blastoise and an event blaziken. I'll try the game again later on but fuck sake that was a miserable team I had, should've gotten my shit pushed in way more often

Face it, good and bad are subjective. You may not care about any of that shit, but plenty of fans who started with earlier Gens do, even people who think XY is actually decent (me) still recognize it as an overall bad turning point for the series.

Hate is a strong word, but I grew bored and never finished it. Just too easy, they just give you at least two mega evolutions somewhere towards the beginning and middle of the game (one of them the ugly lucario one), and no enemy uses a mega evolution until the champion I think.

When before you had to put more effort into finding such a powerful pokemon, and this perceived freebie is what he disliked about XY. That's literally Magikarp's entire gimmick, yet it's extremely common and fully evolves 30 levels earlier than Bagon does. Does this mean every game with Magikarp is bad? I heavily suspect you'll say no because you didn't actually think about your shitty "critique" for more than 2 seconds.

Kalos was great, it’s not perfect but it is as pretty good for what it was. My first game was emerald fyi and I had fond memories of playing X, so last year I got a new copy it and tried it again. I think the diversity of available mon is really cool as it allows you to build creative teams really early on and caters to a wider audience. For the autist who was complaining about the bagon, just don’t fucking catch it. Pokémon is enjoyed in conjunction with how autist, headcanonny the player can get. X/Y allows you to build your own narrative pretty well through customization, Pokémon diversity like I said, and atmosphere. Regardless of it not being the best example of France, it still has its own unique vibe. It added megas which is like the first real gimmick. Added fairy. Added player customization. Best online system. Great shiny hunting methods. Not perfect, but pretty good.

Worst story and forgettable characters
This is the point where TPC forces people to like their favorite pokemon (in the main games), even more annoying than Kanto reference #94
Kanto references are cool, but XY is that guy from a 3rd world country who wants to create his own media and keeps putting popular references every fucking minute, that's why it's annoying and this board always complains about it (Yes, Alola was worse)
Started the specific pokemon dicksucking trend until SV removed it
Unfinished games, SM had to fix the Zygarde problem, and ORAS (and trashnime) had to fix the poor mega evolution usage.
Mega Evolution is also a shit and overrated gimmick, only saved by its cool concept and also because it's the first one.

There's also great things like the online, the pokemon, the sidequests and Amie.

It has a high amount of content and polish compared to other monster collecting RPGs and other Pokemon games. There are 721 possible party members, all with multiple context-specific animations, which no other RPG accomplishes except for the Pokemon games that came after it. The campaign lasts 20-30 hours played casually, which is a good length, and makes each map unique and highly replayable by offering tons of variety of things to collect while also having multiple unique puzzles and gimmicks throughout the maps in the game. Its a fucking dragon type that resists many other types save for fairy, itself, and ice, and hits everything save for fairy at neutral damage with a good STAB attack. You don't find many ice types, or any at all at that point of the game. At that point you'd still have your first stage starter or mid evo depending on how you level up, and its not even that much more powerful than bagon at that point when comparing raw base stats. 300 base stats doesn't matter all that much when you're just level 20. Aron is usable in Emerald up to the the 5th fucking gym and it only has a +30 stat total on Bagon.

And don't give me that exp share bullshit, a Magikarp still takes up a slot being super fucking useless until level 20.

Bagon, Larvitar, Beldum ect should all be something you have to look for. They should be exceptionally hard to find because they grow to be exceptionally strong. It also makes it more satisfying. As for Aron, it gets countered by an incredibly common weakness in the hoenn region (Water) and a devastating 4x weakness to ground. Bagon doesn't have anything like that and Salamence doesnt face as many ice type attacks since ice type distribution is way less pronounced than fuckin ground, which is everywhere.

This is my last (You) because everyone else has gone in circles with you and your smartass attitude flipflopping between deliberate retardation and aggressive deflection towards other gens, while having no argument of your own that you stick to. XY introduced many series staples, and much needed features that were lacking in the games before it. And the gen is so weak on pokemon that they had to heavily rely on handing you free reliable mons from previous gens, or the allotted megas to coast the game off of.
The story is so dog water that it failed to be serious or dramatic despite having beats of ancient war, weapon of mass destruction, and canon reviving the dead. But no, it all ends with a fucking idiot that simps for a shitty floette...
and for all that to suck, for the 3d models, to remain shit for years, and ONLY RECENTLY actually going back and adding to them is a fucking crime.

yes. diamond and pearl were very clearly unfinished and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say gamefreak spent more time learning the new engine than they did making the game.
they would later go on to release platinum, which fixed many of DP's problems. much like how XY were clearly unfinished, but they later released Z which drastically improved it.

O contraire. You in fact should raise Bagon in XY, or other dragons really. They're at a natural disadvantage. You have slower than average EXP, bad level up moves, and of course the new Fairy Type which was meant to give them a hard time. They're some of the worst Pokemon to use in that game. I like having the pseudo legendary along for the ride in-game personally.

And rarity is nice, but they've done this in other ways here like the Mega Stone search.

I went to the league with unevolved shitmons and stomped over it without saving once, it's the easiest elite 4 I've battled so far

I'm not a great player. Pokemon games aren't hard but it's ridiculous to pretend the Kalos league isn't insultingly easy. I shouldn't be able to win without a reset with a team of Braixen and Pal. I certainly wouldn't win on Hoenn and Sinnoh, at least

Literally every E4 in the series is insultingly easy. I beat the entire E4 in Emerald with lv45-50 pokemon I barely used without even having to pull out my lv70 Blaziken.

I try to make the games more challenging but I would consider XY and ORAS the easiest in the series. I think it's cool that they have a lot of different pokemon to catch and Shauna is cute but the story is lame.
