Aren't the XY protags older than Emma who's canonically 16? I remember hearing that in the JP version, Emma says something about the protag being older than her, so Serena & Calem are probably 17-19. But would need to double check.

Serena was always such a bland design even before the anime made her popular.
Now Selene (specifically SM not the trash USUM version) on the other hand is kino in every aspect. Unique fun clothes, cute face and hair, she's as perfect as can be.
