Megas were shit, and started the terrible gimmicks that infest Pokemon. Previous generations could improve upon the battle system without trying to use gimmicks

Megas were fine, but XY are so blatantly unfinished it wasn't even funny. At least SwSh, the second worst Pokemon Game (behind BDSP) felt finished, albeit with the expansion pass. XY didn't get its Z that could've saved the region.
Also the new Pokemon are a shameless Kanto ripoff, even more than your favorite boogeyman America region.

Both the ones I've seen for Hoenn and Kalos seem to have some incredibly stupid comparisons. I'd be interested in seeing one done for Unova, since that's the probably the only one that you wouldn't need to do massive stretches to complete, as long as you don't limit yourself to Gen 1 for it.

Megas had so much potential to shine but being a very exclusive (and very KANTOcentered gimmick) it never had the chance to make more pokémon usable.

Z-Moves were able to be used for any species with moves and it had some special moves for exclusive species.
Same with Dynamax, it was a "Z-Move +" and G-Max were cheaper megas.

Mega pokémon should introduce also special auras that boost the same points of a megaevolution to regular pokémon, but being unable of using items.

And they couldn't change types or abilities

Kalos was the most rushed and wasted potential region ever made.
Alola was way too ambitious for the 3DS. Then it ran like trash and it had a 40 dollars DLC that should been just a plus in the base game, 3DS already had dlc support no excuse.
Not even Galar had such potential, even when it's the "there's no lore outside of a 20.000 years old meteorite, the region."

I really hope that the SV dlc finally gives ANOTHER CHANCE to the region of the beauty.
I want to explore the region again but not being limited to just a small area that we never seen before.

If they wanna play with nostalgia GIVE US nostalgia. 10 years anniversary this year, just saying.

Mega-Lucario.

Who the fuck decided to give you one of the most broken pokémon in the game FOR FREE and you can't even deny (and no the PC isn't an excuse, if they give you something you can use it, period.)

XY basically makes you a whole team and you don't need to catch pokémon.

Starter. Starter again. Lucario. Fossil. Lapras. Etc.

In terms of technical shit, it's the worst mechanic. It's literally the Luxray of mechanics, it's a shitmon with a great concept and that's why people like it so much.

Most of the game's flaws were glossed over because of muh 3D. Same numale techno fetishism that led to Shrek style CGI taking over animated movies
I remember when Mario and Zelda first came out in 3D. The games offered something unique in play over the 2D games, as opposed to just a 3D reskin

Honestly that's what I like about XY too. Megas were the last time a genuine addition to the battle system was made.
SM onwards have just added gimmicks and removed battle modes.
