So GSC ports with Stadium 2 compatiablity is OBVIOUSLY coming soon and isn't hopium, so what are good pokemon and sets to transfer over? I never got the chance to do it properly when I had my N64.

Starmie is really good
For R2 Prime Cup I used Misdreavus/Blissey/Skarmory/Raikou/Machamp/Starmie which worked out really well and from what I imagine would be good for R1

Makes more sense for them to just have Home + Stadium compatibilities (similar to Crystal VGC and the GS ball) rather than attempting to make two roms talk to each other in two emulators.

I did beat the game and I didn't use rentals. Why would I bother? Most rental Pokémon are unusable and the only ones that are good have to rely on Counter/Mirror Coat/Explosion.

Since no ones actually answering the question I'll try. Snorlax is a given with Body Slam/Earthquake and either Curse or Belly Drum and Rest.

Lapras with Surf/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt can hit pretty much anything and maybe Confuse Ray.

I haven't did Stadium 2 Round 2, but Stadium 1 Round 2, I was getting absolutely fucked around. I was using the team I got to the HoF with, and I was getting outsped by everything almost immediately.

Unfortunately outclassed in every way by the premier starmie, can insta Recover while having enough coverage(bolt/beam/psychic)with t.wave

Top tier with the highest attack in the game. Typically paired with scizor for an agility baton pass. Can catch some people off guard if using the few oddball moves it has like fire blast or ice beam

Lapras would be better using a gimmick set playing off using horn drill or perish song

And you'll take down at least one pokemon, if not all three. Another fun set is

Spider web/mean look
Agility/Growth
Baton pass

but that's a bit more passive.
