This is slightly disingenuous . Most ribbons come from gen3. And for every Pokémon blessed with good animations, some have it bad. Not only that but battle camera does not do much if Pokémon are mostly static. The best bottom screen is in gen IV and the battle facilities were good enough.
Berry farming and bottom screen are gen V biggest pitfalls.
And no game before gen VI had customization at all.

Literally all of them are better than the gen 5 animations.
