>>53251563>outclassed in almost every way by the gen 3 and 4 devon™ corp™ balls™Not really? At least in terms of those that are directly comparable.
They might be more niche, but I wouldn't exactly call them outclassed. I think Level Balls in particular would get a lot of use if they were more accessible, since they beat out Nest in a lot of level ranges. Friend Balls get you to high Friendship quicker than Luxury. Lure Balls got buffed to be better than Dive while Fishing after Dive itself was buffed to work outside of underwater situations. And if you were trying to catch a lot of a single mon, Love Balls could beat out Repeat Balls, or at least work in tandem.
The Heavy Ball itself is rather unique for adding to Catch Rate directly instead of being a multiplier. Fast Ball I could also see being better if it were more available, since 4x is a good catch rate on things that happen to have high speed.
Moon Ball is the only one I'd say is really too niche, especially since it's only a 4x modifier.
I'd definitely rather see them rework it though, especially if the games are moving to a more open-world approach. Being able to craft pokeballs helps add a reason to explore around collecting resources, and the more distinct pokeballs are, the more reason there is to go out of the way to use them instead of just resorting to Dusk or Quick balls for everything.
