No. Gens 7, 8, and 9 are all fun. Gen 6 is horrible garbage but no one considers it a Pokemon game anyway, hardly the fault of 3d, Kalos is just troon shit.

I do. He's a very important Pokemon for the meta. Anti-stall is an incredibly useful niche to have, and there aren't very many good Pokemon that fit that niche. The reason stall was so rampant in Gen 8 is because of Gliscor getting dexcut.

The DS games use a mixture of 3D models and 2D sprites, but the sprites are always at a camera angle that allows them to (mostly) seamlessly blend in with the 3D renders. There are a couple specific points where the 2D on 3D is noticeable and looks awkward though, such as the outside of the Olivine Lighthouse or the room before the entrance to Skyarrow Bridge

There is no hardline between Classic and Modern, too much has changed for there to be a seperate divide.
For instance, Gen 4 might be very different from Gen 9, but it is also leagues different from Gen 1.

It's not that complicated. You split it by device.
>Gameboy (color) era
Gen 1 and 2
>GBA era
Gen 3
>DS era
Gen 4 and 5
These can all be grouped together as the 2D era or the sprite era.

>3DS era
Gen 6 and 7
>Switch era
Gen 8 and 9
3D model era.

I don't really like the aesthetic compared to Gligar but I'm glad Gligar got a viability boost. I'd love to go diving with him if it wouldn't kill him. Guess we'll have to settle for an underwater tube adventure. Thank goodness there's both!

polygons mean it's 3D

one-off assets need not apply, or else certain cutscenes in the first 3 gens would also count as 3D, and fuckin menu sprites in newer games don't count either. Exceptions don't disprove tendencies.
