What is something that would cause mass widespread unanimous butthurt among the community? Something so significant that it would do the community a new one.

Good suggestion but I'm thinking of something that never happened before. So no to that or the dex cut.

Geeta having a Gogoat and Avalugg is up there but I wouldn't exactly call that being butthurt.

Complete Reset.
Gen 1 only has the og 151
Looks like BD/SP but has the features of FR/LG with no sevii isles
Only compatible with itself so home is essentially a storage unit.

Even if some Pokemon were undeniably improved, the autistic screeching would be immense.

Imagine how an autist would react if the shiny lime green Espeon he's kept since Gen III is suddenly mint green in Gen X. He'd probably off himself

That would be dependent on the Pokémon.

People would gladly accept a better shiny for Garchomp and Gengar while others like Aurorus and Gyarados don't need to be changed.

A monthly subscription for a Pokémon Showdown clone. All online/tournament battling/trading go through this game, while the story and collecting pokémon will stick inside their games counterpart.
The models and battle animation will still look similar and will do stand in place physical moves.

This is why I didn't like bw when it came out. Black to be specific because white actually had the white forest where you could catch old mons I liked but I had the stupid balck version. At least black city had the better music I guess haha

The next generation's rival is confirmed nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. I was going to say dark skinned too but this has been the norm already.

Pulling a Mega Man 9 and going to Game Boy or Game Boy Color visuals.

Believe it or not, there's a good amount of fans who prefer the series in 3D since things like character acting isn't well conveyed with sprites.
