I've really soured on Hisuian Samurott over time especially, it's like they just took a shit all over its shell and bent it a bit. would've much preferred something different as opposed to a bad recolor with a slightly curlier mustache.
on the other hand, I never really liked Hisuian Typhlosion, and I still really don't. It's not only become a lot more jobmon-like (explicitly taking on much more feminine spiritual characteristics, like the bead necklace and the curls near the hair, as well as the much daintier shape and eyeliner), but the flames look fucking terrible now. Red and purple never look good together, and the shade they chose for it looks especially bad- especially in contrast with the bright beige on the rest of its body
unlike the other two though, I've actually warmed up to Hisuian Decidueye. I like that it does something different, and the way the wings are curled up with more emphasis on the legs is pretty cool. The hat is still retarded though.
And it probably leads to my biggest issue: these evolutions all feel like they come out of nowhere considering their prior forms, Decidueye especially. I think I would've much preferred a regional variant for every single stage instead of just the final ones, it would've made the transition for Decidueye especially much much smoother and I think all the stages deserved some attention as opposed to just the final ones.
their color schemes also aren't nearly as coherent as most starter trios (which usually share at least one color and/or follow a common red-blue-green pattern), so they stick out like a sore thumb both alongside other trios and when posing together
all in all, just another blunder in a long line of GF having incredible concepts but executing them TERRIBLY
