I played Scarlet on emulator recently, and 5-star and higher raids are AIDS. Bugged, given barely enough time to finish, and the raid pokemons are bullet sponges of adamantium. And the game should tell where the higher raids are one the map, or at least 6 star ones, but it doesnt.
I dont hate Raids by itself, but the jump from 4-stars to 5 is bullshit, when most your pokemons at late game are just +60, but 5-stars are around +75

There's a reason raids in general shower you with exp candies, so you can max out mons for 5-stars and up.
That being said, some raids are simply irredeemably bullshit, one of the worst offenders being Annihilape.
If there's one thing I'd change in raids it'd be adding a hard cap/cooldown on extra actions, especially the tera orb siphons arbitrarily slowing down the whole fight. It doesn't help that 4-stars and up require actually landing attacks to charge it up.

I hate raids that can build up themselves, when they give you the illusion of ease by being one-shot to mid, but when they put the barrier suddendly they buff up and kill people 2 by 2 and empty the gauge in 2 turns.

4 stars are easily cleared by a level 75 or higher party member. Shit starts getting annoying going 5 stars and upward. Being level 100 doesn't guarantee victory in all cases (some of them yeah you'll have an easier time), because each of your opponents will become nuts to crack on different hardness levels. Your opponent's AI will range from retards doing Snowscape most of their turns until death to opponents which will actively try and cripple you every other turn with a status move 90% of the time if available in their movepool. Others will gradually setup like: >>53279766 and there will be cases where they have a certain Tera type that either boosts their strongest hits to break your mons like twigs or create a situation where you'd need to bring a specific type for STAB purposes but turns out it was an easy prey to the rest of your opponent's movepool. belly drum azumarill is the cheapest yet most effective "generic" raid mon. It can get countered but for farming shards on rando mons-elements pairs it's good enough.

I think it's pretty bullshit when the community needs to come together for niche bullshit strategies to cheese the boss for anything 6 star plus. Any fully evolved pokemon above 500 bat at level 100 should have a decent chance of victory.

Also, if you're stuck on a specific raid boss, don't be afraid to look online to see if someone else has beaten it. They could suggest strategy's that you've never thought off before.
Because of them, I managed to beat Annihilape with an Anger point Tauros.

They're extremely buggy, right now.
The issue is that it's absolutely still turn-based, but the game pretends that they're not. So you can be left waiting minutes between moves, because they've been implemented in the most retarded way possible, on top of every other SV bug.

Assuming HOME support is announced soon I plan to get Violet. I have a few questions.

How much has issues been worked out via patches? Is it still like this shit show I saw at launch?
How much of the game is actually on the physical cart? I'm a boomer and enjoy having plastic take up my house but if the game is basically not playable outta the box I kinda don't see a reason anymore and it would make playing multiple games easier.

He's right thought. Only a handful of 5-stars are genuinely challenging, and that generally requires them to have 2-4 of 1) high BST, 2) well-matched status moves, 3) a brutal ability, and 4) a tera-type that you can't be super-effective against without exposing yourself to one of its attack types.

A fair number of 6*s can be pretty challenging, though, especially before you put together a few specialty mons to deal with them.

the patch only removed item duplication. there was no performance upgrades. If you buy physical, beat the game without updating and get your duped ride mon to dupe items at your convenience. I only needed one of the apricorn balls/ability patch/tera shards to dupe hundreds.
