>>53280734Yeah I mean, considering Eevee itself wasn't a Special type, Umbreon was conceptualized as a non-Special type, Sylveon is completely indeterminant if it would've been a Special type, the stat spreads were never purely geared towards being Special, and not all previous Special types have received an Eeveelution, we can conclude that it is indeed patternfagging, and not why we haven't received more.
Ultimately we're not going to know why we haven't had more until GF says themselves, but of all the reasons I've heard, yours makes the most sense-- they're taking great care in what they produce. We've seen how god damn popular they are, I mean Sylveon and Umbreon regularly top charts, and the others aren't that far behind. So it at least has sound supposition behind it.
