Are BW1 worth playing at all if I don't really care about the story?

Is there anything that is better in BW compared to BW2?

BW have some different gyms, you go through tue map in a different order, amd the dex is all Unova. There technically isn't really exclusive content, but it's a different experience, not the usual small 3rd version changes.

debatable. The Pokémon selection is different and you have access to some mon earlier on than in BW2 (for example, the regional fossils aren't postgame).

Personally, I far prefer the protagonist designs and enjoy how every usable Pokémon is new. There's also less hand holding (tutorials mostly drop off after the first gym, whereas BW2 doesn't let go until after the second gym) and postgame content is wildly different.

Personally I think BW are better in many ways, just missing some stuff that was added to B2W2. Post game felt more natural and meatier despite lacking many new areas. Maybe that's because BW postgame opened the floodgates on old Pokémon, whereas in B2W2 most of the available Pokémon are there before postgame, and some Unova mons are basically stuck in postgame instead.

Every pokemon game is worth playing at least once.

I played Emerald on an emulator and could see what everyone who deifies it was talking about. Each region/gen is a unique experience worth playing through at least once, immho.

I don't understand why people here shit on the story in BW1 so hard. I think N and Dennis make for really interesting characters. People seem to hate being forced to have the dragon on your team in the final fights, but other than that its a pretty based climax. With as many autistic manchildren that are on this board, you'd think that N's room would be relatable to them

For the better, in ways you can appreciate more if you play BW1 first. The fact that the dex is exclusively new Pokémon was a novelty I enjoyed, but allowed me to better appreciate the previous Pokémon in BW2.

because there is no plot to this game other than the last act. Everything you went through with Team Plasma and shit doesn't matter in the slightest because their end goal was never what they stated throughout the entire game. they're pointless.

and then there are Cheren and Bianca's ""arcs"" that are resolved in the dumbest ways possible.
