Cubone lore doesn't make any sense.

When you first reach Lavender Town, there is a Cubone in one of the houses that an NPC tells you is the child of the Marowak that the Rockets killed in Pokemon Tower.

The Pokedex states that Cubone wears the skull of its dead mother.

But the Rockets are still occupying the tower when you reach Lavender, so how long ago did they kill Marowak? It couldn't have been that long. So did baby Cubone decapitate the corpse of its mother, strip away the flesh, and clean the skull just to wear it? Or have the Rockets been there for weeks and the Cubone waited for the rotting corpse to become a skeleton?

Then you have the issue of there being many wild Cubones in the tower, and they all wear skulls.

If all Cubones wear the skulls of their dead mother, does that mean all Marowaks die shortly after the eggs hatch? Why doesn't your Marowak die if you breed it? You can hatch countless eggs bred from a single Marowak, and all the Cubones are born with skulls, and your Marowak is absolutely fine.

It's such weird lore for a fairly basic Pokemon.
