I actually don't hate it, yeah it's tedious as fuck when you're doing it, but it made the pokemon actually feel rare and valuable, which is something that they haven't done in a very long time

Yeah I was playing PLA blind and couldn't figure out how to get Manaphy. I even found the cave and didn't know why it wasn't there. I finally caved in nearly a year later and looked it up and saw that shit and I was like wow there wasn't actually a way to figure it out on my own, that sucks. Wish there would've been clues in-game or something, I prefer games being self-contained, especially since PLA is a self-contained adventure (no 2 versions, just 1).
