>>53297026NTA and I have no idea what cobblemon even is or who is even making these but Intentionally skipping them over seems pretty anti-johto, this bullshit even happened with pokemmmo but the region instead of the starters (though the Pokémon themselves are in at least) and even the mmo called bullshit on the creators excuses.
>>53297045It’s a snowball effect, the less attention man equals less change to get popular with casual or new fans, it becomes even more apparent as older fans keep leaving Pokémon (either due to age or being tired of the franchise’s problems).
I’m not saying someone at TPC has been trying to sabotage Gen2 starters, instead I’m just saying if they did, they’d do things like: barely have them in the anime, barely give them cards, give the Fire one backwards coverage options and no set up moves and give the grass one practically nothing, skip the Gen2 starters for megas while gen1 and 3 got them, not even give the gen2 starters hidden abilities until Gen 6 is almost over and making 2/3 of those abilities mid at best and embarrassing at worst. Erase them all from the franchise in SwSh, and when Legends Team decides to pick the fire one to be a starter instead of Charizard, change its regional form’s ability Frisk in an open meta. Also give the original form of the Fire one nothing to deal with the most powercreepimg generation ever still leaving it as one of the most one-dimensional Pokémon in existence while every other returning starter Pokémon received insane new coverage, utility and set up moves. And make sure that the grass and water ones have still been erased from the franchise except for the Sinnoh demake even Sinnohfags are embarrassed about
Probably just a coincidence, and there is no that any of this could cause newer fans to look at the Gen2 starters less positively
