>>53304640The more you think about it and his past, the worse it gets.
He has been neglected his whole life, to the point where he had to teach himself how to cook only to feed himself properly. Hell, his parent probably only gave him Maschiff so that they could focus more on their work.
Maybe they had good intentions, but considering that Arven didn't even know what his parent tried to achieve, it seemed that they never shared their dream of paradise with him. They just decided it's what everyone would've wanted. They never talked to Arven about it.
People knew Arven because his parent was famous - so whenever people met him and recognized him he would be reminded of his neglect. His existence is inevitably tied to them. He likely couldn't meet new people without having them mention his neglectful parent, not knowing what they did to him.
And when his parent was in Area Zero, communication between them was so sparse that Arven couldn't be sure whether his parent was still alive even after they cut contact for at least two years (he said that the emails stopped "a couple of years ago"). He had a hunch, but he didn't know for sure if they were just too absorbed in their work or just finally stopped caring about him entirely. Yet he cared enough to travel to Area Zero by himself to check up on them, only to end up with his only companion getting horribly injured.
And in the end, he does confirm his suspicion that his parent has in fact died, only to find a creepy robot clone that he seemed to be suspicious of the whole game.
Then the robot drops lines about how his parent truly loved him out of nowhere, only to then disappear forever as well, leaving nothing of his parent. He doesn't even fucking know where their remains are, if there are any. They are simply gone.
>hfwFuck me, what a depressing character. It's honestly unrealistic how well adjusted Arven is for the shit he went though.
