Unironically this is what I was hoping for with the dexcut, to have a small, concentrated dex that forms a believable ecosystem with dex entries to match that have consequences on ingame events.
PLA was on the right step but Gamefreak needs to stop being forgiven or given credit for "taking steps towards something good" instead of actually making it.
