Obviously things have definitely shifted since Gen 1 (and to a lesser extent Gen 2) where things seemed more grounded…well, as grounded as a series about fantasy monsters could be, but it was reflected in both tone and character design.
People give me shit, but I actually didn’t mind the Toriyama sameface of the human characters, and when body shapes were usually more realistic.
