It's a boring, empty husk of a game. It's a tech-demo. Scarlet/Violet is the same game, but they filled it with great, interesting content. That's why it runs worse.

PLA is the actual game. SV is another mechanic slop fest on top of being an empty husk with Pokémon flavoring. The main cast and their dynamics is the only thing “Pokémon game” about it.

PLA is a glorified vertical slice that they charged $60 for and you bought and defended.
Any other franchise would have been raked over the coals for releasing something like this for even half the price.

It was the team of new hires that actually have talent that made PLA. SV was the leftovers and old employees that can't make a 3d game to save their lives.

Pokemon could actually be good if they just hired more new talent.. but they don't want to so we're stuck with trash until the old staff dies or retires.

It was an amazing game.
It's also blatant that Gamefreak's practice of having two different teams working on different games is outdated.
PLA has a lot of content (like being able to bring out all your pokemon at once) that was left out of SV for seemingly no reason. My guess is that both teams are given an engine and they work on it separately with almost no communication.
