The game hardcore fans are waiting for, it comes with gen 10. That's the meaty stuff. Gen 9 is just a placeholder to taste the waters. With that said, don't fall for the bait.

Please be patient! Gen 10 is everything you'll need. Better graphics and more mature story. Edgy stuff!

PLA can be considered a legitimate improvement. SV is many steps back from that, past mainline titles, and in some cases, even Gen 1.

Both games tried to improve in different directions and both where able to accomplish what they were going for, PLA improving in the overworld and pokemon and SV improving on the story and pacing. Since they where developed at the same time they were unable to take things from the other to make a more complete product, but gen 10 definitely will.
