If you weren't convinced before, you should be now. Westerners are no longer the attended audience of pokemon, assuming that at some point we were. Nintendo and gamefreak know they can get away with pandering to the Japanese audience with their own folk lore, traditions, and Yokai Watch designs. They know the rest of the world will eat it up regardless so they've been doubling down on it ever since SwSh. And I'm not even just talking about the Pokemon designs, the humans look even worse. But this is the reality of things and we're on a one-way track to yokai city, there's no coming back.
